Literature Text

I remember
The swans of September
Gliding gently across the pond

Leaves danced on the wind
Winter was setting in
You sat quietly by my side

You turned to me and said
That all hope was lost
You needed me
Wished for me to hold you tight

Just ask and I'll do it
My heart won't deny it
Let love be the pillar
That you lean upon

I was told stories
Of knights and their glories
Of plunder, treasure,
And a massacre

Too mush crying
And far too much dying
That death had left you
On unsolid ground

The war has changed you
The battle has raped you
Of all that you are
And has left you with scars

Just ask and I'll do it
My heart won't deny it
Let love be the pillar
That you lean upon

Softly you kissed my hand
Whispering in my ear
" Maybe I should just
Part from thee now."

Hath you no guilt, love?
And hath you no heart, love?
You're as cold as
The first winter's sun

Must our love come to this?
End all the splendid bliss
For all the emotions
Warring in your heart?

Just ask and I'll do it
My heart won't deny it
Let love be the pillar
That you lean upon
Inspired by an instrumental harp song. The music was too beautiful to not put lyrics to. :)
